Cory-isms at 15 months

I thought I would take a moment and jot down the many cute and quirky things about Cory at this age before he outgrows them and my memory begins to fail me. I think this has got to be one of my favorite ages. His personality is very evident and we love every bit of him.

1. Cory loves to walk. Ever since he took his first unassisted steps, he's been moving non-stop. My favorite thing he does when he walks is, if he has a treat in his hands he will put them behind his back like he's hiding them. He also puts his thumbs in his pockets and walks around.. but only at church for some reason. He looks like he owns the place.

2. Cory LOVES Rocko. Sometimes he loves Rocko a little too much and a little too hard. He likes to play cars on Rocko's back (like it's a table) and likes to smack him with the wooden spoon... all in good fun. We've been working on how to treat the dog. Nobody, and I mean nobody makes Cory laugh like Rocko. They would play in the backyard together for hours if I let them.

3. Cory's sleeping position. Cory sleeps with his bum high in the air. He also likes to sing himself to sleep on occasion. I won't mention which parent he inherited these two traits from.

4. Cory loves to help. Cory is obsessed with sweeping the floor. We have to hide the broom from him in order to be able to go anywhere without it. He also loves helping me with the laundry (he unfolds all the clothing for me and dumps them on the floor). He also loves taking a rag and wiping down the walls in the home.

5. Cory makes silly noises. He makes car noises (no one taught him this) when playing with a toy car. He makes spitty/farty noises and wants you to mimic him and gets a bit upset if you don't. He can say ball but it sounds more like "baaa". He yells "dada" when he's happy and "mama" when he's sad and needs something.

6. Cory is not allowed to watch Super Why. He loves loves loves this show and throws a crazy tantrum when you turn it off. No tv for baby Cory!

7. Cory is and eavesdropper. If we are at a restaurant, he will turn around in his high chair and basically stick his cute button nose into the poor people's next to us' conversation. He'll flirt with the ladies and give them cute grins. He'll make faces and totally disrupt their meal. He's a ham.

8. Cory loves when we read to him. He will run into his room and pick out a book (his favorite right now is "Oh my oh my oh dinosaurs" by Sandra Boynton). He will bring the book up to you and look up with those big eyes until you cave and read it to him.

9. Cory plays "tunnel". He will run between your legs and likes to take the most physically challenging route anywhere. He likes to test his capabilities.

10. Cory is sweet. He hug my legs while I wash the dishes in the sink. So sweet!

We love our little guy and I wish I could bottle him up and keep him this way forever, but alas, he will grow and change.
