Baby stuff!

A little friend for our little one.

Disregard the tools hanging around.... I'm working on picking those up. The crib converts to a toddler bed when he gets bigger.

We put the changing table together last night. What's nice about this piece is when he grows out of it, it converts into just a chest of drawers.

Close up of the way cute bassinet my mom purchased for the family.

Here's a full shot of the bassinet all put together.

Lots of photos coming soon!

We had a very productive weekend due to the help of Anthony's parents. Seriously, how did we both end up with such fantastic parents?!?
Here are things you can anticipate seeing photos of shortly (just need to take them!)
  • Bathroom is 99.9999% complete! The sink is in but just needs a different P-trap and I just need to do some minor cosmetic touch ups (paint the door, put in a little more grout in a couple tiles, screw down threshold).
  • We also put in the towel bar, towel ring, toilet paper holder and put the center light cover on.
  • Crib is up- working on the bedding part!
  • Bassinet is put together and is so cute!
So exciting!!!

Maternity Leave and Work

I just have to say, I'm really grateful for my job. I've been truly blessed to work for a company that is flexible in my work arrangements. I'm planning on taking 10 weeks off for maternity leave. After the 10 weeks is over, my boss agreed that I could telecommute from home full time. I'd plan on coming in every other Friday for a little face time, but it would not be required. I like the face-to-face interaction, so I'll most likely come in and visit every once in a while. I was originally hoping for part-time, but they really need a full-time employee. I think this is a fair agreement and am grateful for their flexibility. I feel this is truly and answer to our prayers.

Working on the weekend

Bathroom Update: We got the wainscoting and the crown moulding in this weekend. We also painted it to add an extra layer of protection. We also got the toilet in! I'm so grateful to have an upstairs toilet! Now, all we need to do is put in the sink and accessories (toilet paper holder, towel rack, shower curtain rod, etc.) and install the door (yes, I've been using the bathroom without a door). The end is in sight!

Rocko Update: Rocko is doing well. He's on 4 different kinds of medication right now (was 5 originally). He has to be crated during the day so he doesn't run around and over do it. We're figuring out how to work full time and take care of a re-cooperating puppy these days. I hope we get it down soon.

Bald spots

Rocko is home and is super whiny. I can't blame him; I'd be pretty whiny if I had these weird bald spots too. They had to shave a patch on his back to do an epidural. I should ask him what it's like since I'm sure I'll be having an epidural in not too long. He's going to be like this for a while. He's home for a little TLC.

Surgery Day

We took Rocko into the vet to have surgery this morning. You can tell by the way he's sitting in the waiting room that his legs don't quite work right. He won't be coming home until tomorrow, but I'll post how he is doing after surgery. We love our little puppy!

Update: The surgeon just called me and Rocko did great! He's awake and alert. We can go see him tonight if we want, but he'll be ready to come home sometime tomorrow.

I feel like this guy

The moulding begins

Last night we worked a little on the baseboards. We'll be adding the wainscoting and chair rail soon. Also, the crown moulding looks like it just came in today at Lowe's. The bathroom is going to be so pretty!

A few crazy days

I've been meaning to put up some photos of the completed shower, medicine cabinet and vanity lights but it's been a few crazy days.
We had a bit of a scare with the baby this week. I apparently caught a pretty bad viral infection which caused me to become very dehydrated and put me into pre-term labor. I was at the hospital pretty much all of Wednesday and was released late that night. Modern medicine is a miracle and I'm so grateful for everyones support during this scary time. The baby and I are doing well now and Anthony's just about over the infection as well. Thanks again to loving family and friends that looked out for us. We love you!

Scheduled Surgery

Our little Rocko dog is scheduled for surgery on his back right knee next week. He'll be going in on the 13th for a luxating patella surgery. It takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks for him to heal. So, no jumping or running hard or going up or down stairs for 4-8 weeks! Hopefully this surgery will do the trick and he'll feel better soon.

Precious

I think Rocko might be dead.... look at his tongue sticking out.

A couple of boys were a bit tired today......
