I recently went to the doctor for my 6 week appointment. She gave me the all clear to work out again, just realizing I haven't worked out in forever and my muscles are probably pretty week (especially the abs due to the c-section). I must admit, it was nice to actually have a real excuse to not work out for a long time, but now that excuse is a gonner.
I worked out this morning for the first time and used the new Body Bug that Anthony got me for Christmas. I burned about 1,000 calories according to the Body Bug! I kind of don't believe it, but it claims to be within 10% of exactness (90% accuracy). Nursing doesn't hurt the calorie burn either. I'm within 5 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight, but I was overweight when I got pregnant. I have a lofty goal of losing 40 lbs. I gained about 45 lbs with Cory and have lost 40 of that already- mostly baby and water weight. That means a total of 80 freaking pounds that I would lose in the end! One pound at at time, I keep telling myself.
Cory was a good boy and just watched me walk/jog on the treadmill while happily sucking on his bink. Hey, maybe one day the air won't be so crappy and I can go jog at the park with Cory and Rocko! That is my dream... maybe some day it will actually happen. Pray for Spring to come ASAP!
I'm not sure if I will be able to do the Salt Lake City half marathon this year, but maybe one later this year? I have a goal of running another half marathon this year. It's the only way I've been able to lose weight and keep it off. It's just a fact, I HAVE to work out.
